Comments for the student: Overall, excellent job. Katie was well-prepared, thoughtful and clear in her answers, and exemplified professionalism throughout the course of the interview. Katie was extremely personable, authentic and highlighted her interests, passions, and accomplishments during our conversation. In particular, she did a great job answering the first 2 questions ("tell me about yourself" and "why QU and your major") by comprehensively and chronologically going through her experience and extracurriculars and demonstrating her impact and leadership in each role she has had. This is the exact approach she should continue to take in actual interviews when kicking off the interview and sharing her background. The one piece of feedback I shared to elevate her answers around "why are you interested in working for our company / why should I hire you" was to be a bit more direct with her responses (ie her soft and technical skills and strengths) and to then support her answers and strengths with specific examples and stories from her work and extracurriculars. I also suggested weaving in the core values and mission statement of the company she is interviewing for into some of her responses around why she wants to work for the company. This will demonstrate that she is extremely well researched on the firm, and will also demonstrate why she is the right cultural fit for the company. Again, great job Katie!

If you are in direct contact with you interviewer, it is often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note following the interview. Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
Here is some sample language you can use within your thank-you note, which we encourage you to revise as you feel is most appropriate:
As I am new to the interviewing process and always looking to improve, I'd like to ask if you would take a minute to give me some (anonymous) interview feedback.
The following link [insert your interview feedback URL] contains just five general questions about my interview performance and is designed to be completed in under a minute.
If you are not in direct contact with your interviewer, it’s still often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note to the interview coordinator following your interview(s). Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
