Comments for the student: Alex, you were great to talk to. Small talk comes naturally to you, and that is a real advantage in any professional setting. You also had a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the Pepsi role, which makes perfect sense since you already secured the offer. Congratulations again on landing the job and on being named President of your fraternity. Both speak to the way you show up as a leader.
I did get the sense that you took this mock interview a bit lightly, mostly because the pressure was off and you already had the position locked in. That is completely human. Still, these moments are opportunities to sharpen the skills that will carry you into whatever comes next. You have the talent. A little more intention during practice will elevate you even further.
Comments for faculty: This situation was a little different since Alex had already been offered the job with Pepsi that this mock interview was for. Because of that, he treated this with a level of ease that suggested he was already mentally past the process, which I understand. If I had already secured the job I originally signed up to prepare for, I probably would not approach a mock interview with the same intensity either.
