Comments for the student: Standard advice I am giving across the board is that standard professionalism including eye contact and preparedness will go a long way in your current and future job searches! Nice to meet you, Jacob. As discussed, interviewing is about selling yourself to a job. The more you truly understand the role and company the easier it is for you to do that with confidence and relevance. Even if it feels like a stretch connect the dots between the positions you have held and how they will transfer to the position you are interviewing for. Find 1-2 things about the interviewer you can connect with them on, remembering that sometimes standing out from other candidates is about differentiating yourself as someone who is likeable and easy to connect with. Good luck with the starting of Sigma Chi!
Comments for faculty: Jacob did a good job in this exercise. He was prepared with a job and company, but could have been more informed on the role's detail relative to his experience and interests. He was open to feedback and able to speak to his experience with confidence.

If you are in direct contact with you interviewer, it is often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note following the interview. Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
Here is some sample language you can use within your thank-you note, which we encourage you to revise as you feel is most appropriate:
As I am new to the interviewing process and always looking to improve, I'd like to ask if you would take a minute to give me some (anonymous) interview feedback.
The following link [insert your interview feedback URL] contains just five general questions about my interview performance and is designed to be completed in under a minute.
If you are not in direct contact with your interviewer, it’s still often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note to the interview coordinator following your interview(s). Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
