Comments for the student: Ethan presented himself well and clearly has passions for graphic design and business administration. He was kind and pleasurable to speak with which made the interview very open and honest, which was great! During the feedback portion of the mock interview, I recommended that he works on more prepared answers to many of the questions I threw at him -- the common ones that he'll get asked in any interview. I suggested he can take advantage of virtual interviews by having notes and/or key phrases up on his screen that he can glance at to remind him how to answer those questions. For in person interviews, he'll need to rely more on memory. I think he should approach the beginning and end of interviews more confidently, specifically by stating a strong interest in the role for which he's interviewing and reiterating this at the end, asking for contact information to follow up and signaling a strong desire to work for the company. Lastly, Ethan should consider getting involved in some of the many student organizations at QU to help him develop a clearer career path in mind. I believe these improvements would make Ethan a more effective interviewer. Best of luck!!
Comments for faculty: Ethan lacked confidence and a strong interest in the role for which he wanted to be interviewed. As mentioned in the comments above, I believe he needs to prepare more and take steps to narrow down his likely career path so he can better communicate that. He's clearly a very nice person and I think these improvements would make him a great interviewer!

If you are in direct contact with you interviewer, it is often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note following the interview. Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
Here is some sample language you can use within your thank-you note, which we encourage you to revise as you feel is most appropriate:
As I am new to the interviewing process and always looking to improve, I'd like to ask if you would take a minute to give me some (anonymous) interview feedback.
The following link [insert your interview feedback URL] contains just five general questions about my interview performance and is designed to be completed in under a minute.
If you are not in direct contact with your interviewer, it’s still often considered a best practice to send a brief thank-you note to the interview coordinator following your interview(s). Within that note, you can share your interview feedback link.
